DESCRIPTION OF STAINLESS STEEL SEAMLESS PIPE SCH40
Compared with 304 alloy, 316 stainless steel has better corrosion resistance and pitting resistance, and higher strength at high temperatures. It can be formed by all methods, is easy to weld, and is a non-rusting, non-magnetic chromium-nickel alloy.
Note: Pipe sizes can be confusing because the listed sizes have little or no similarity to the actual size of the pipe, and in most cases the listed pipe sizes are closer to the “inner diameter” of the pipe. When the pipe is identified by the actual outer diameter (OD) and wall thickness (W), the size of the pipe is nominal, and the wall thickness is identified by a so-called schedule. Please refer to the outside diameter, inside diameter and actual dimensions of the wall.
