DESCRIPTION OF STAINLESS STEEL ROD AISI 304
304 is the most versatile and widely used stainless steel. Its chemical composition, mechanical properties, solderability, formability and corrosion / oxidation resistance provide the best all-round performance at a relatively low cost. It can be used in a variety of products. The balanced austenite structure of grade 304 enables deep drawing without intermediate annealing, which makes this grade dominate the manufacturing of deep drawn stainless steel parts.

Stainless steel rod AISI 304 is an iron-based alloy containing at least 10.5% chromium. They achieve their stainless steel properties by forming an invisible and adherent chromium-rich oxide film. 304 alloy is a universal austenitic stainless steel with a face-centered cubic structure. It is essentially non-magnetic in the annealed state and can only be hardened by cold working. Compared with alloy 302, it has a lower carbon content and has better corrosion resistance in welded structures.
