DESCRIPTION Ss 430 no.4 Coil
Class Ss 430 no.4 Coil is a ferrite, straight chromium, non-hardening class, which combines excellent corrosion resistance and formability with useful mechanical properties. It is resistant to nitric acid and can be used in specific chemical applications, but automotive upholstery and home appliance components are its biggest applications.
Class 430F is a free-working version of this class and is available in rod form for automatic screw machines. The 434 is aSs 430 no.4 Coil molybdenum-containing version with the same combination of useful properties. The addition of molybdenum improves corrosion resistance.
These properties of Ss 430 no.4 Coil are specified in ASTM A240 / A240M for flat rolled products (plates, plates and rolls). For other products, such as forgings and bars, similar but not necessarily identical characteristics are specified in their respective specifications. Class 430F properties are defined as reinforcement in ASTM A582.
